She is young - in her early twenties. Married with a small child and the self-described breadwinner of her family. College educated and wanting to work her way through law school. I have a very good feeling about this hire.
I like to hire people who are motivated to hustle and prove themselves, and I reward people who do well for me. I have promoted people from within, and I have employees who have dramatically increased their earnings quickly.
However, in the short term I am absorbing massive growth and I am under more financial stress than at any time since I started the business. I do feel good about the team I have assembled and feel that in the long run this is going to be really good. In the short term, pray for my mental health. And my bank account. Oof.
